Bihar’s tele-density set to rise

Patna,(BiharTimes): The entry of three more telecom operators by the end of 2009 will not only povide the necessary push to the telecom penetration in Bihar, it will also increase the tele-density from 27 to 35, which is also the national average. With the coming of these three service providers the number will increase from nine to 12.

The competition is more or less confined to the urban areas while the rural penetration of almost all private sector players is low. With the coming of more private players the competition is now likely to shift to the rural Bihar, where about 85 per cent of the population lives.
