Patna,(BiharTimes): To cater to the needs of visitors, especially foreign tourists, the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation has decided to build deluxe restaurants on selected highways of the state. They would be built in Jehanabad on Patna-Gaya National Highway, which leads to Bodh Gaya, Dobhi and Mohania on Grand Trunk Road, Patna Bypass and Hisua (on the trijunction of Gaya-Rajgir and Gaya-Nawada roads) in the first phase for which tenders have been floated by the BSTDC. |
These restaurants would be built in 15 months period, and will be on the model of motels where arrangements will also be made for short stay of tourists. Sources said modern toilets will also be constructed on highways. The roadside toilets on Jehanabad, Hisua and Dobhi roads are under construction and will be ready by January next.
According to the BSTDC MD Rashmi Verma earlier the foreign tourists faced a lot of problems due to lack of good roadside restaurants and toilets enroute to various tourist destinations.
She said that the BSTDC was making arrangements for their stay at three places. One of them would be a ten-room double storey restaurant with parking space in Jehanabad.
