Patna,(BiharTimes): When demand for the creation of smaller states is gaining ground Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, on Monday gave a strange statement. He called for the merger of Jharkhand and Poorvanchal––the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh––with Bihar. At the state time he added that he was in favour of creating small states and extended his support for creation of Bundelkhand and other small states.

Talking to newsmen in Patna he asked why only Jharkhand, the proposed Poorvanchal state to be carved out of Uttar Pradesh be also merged with Bihar.
Nitish said the constitution of State Reorganisation Commission was necessary since it could recommend both bifurcation and reunification of states.
However, the chief minister did not make any comment on the demands for Mithilanchal, Seemanchal and Bhojpur.

A good U turn. On 10 Dec 2009, news for creation of more small states for good governance and development came, and today merger of Jharkand, Porvanchal and eastern parts of UP to Bihar (to be larger state) has appeared. It was earlier a dream for family Chief Minister-ship and now it is a dream for a family Prime Minister-ship i.e. governance over greater parts.
This is freedom of speech learnt living in democracy known as politics and diplomacy.
