Patna,(BiharTimes): India Tourism Patna, has invited Chinese tourists on a familiarization trip to promote Buddhist circuit in Bihar. The theme of the trip is Walk With Buddha, and comes in the wake of Union ministry of tourism launching its new office in Beijing. The 22-member team of tourists comprising mostly of journalists from newspapers, magazines and television channels along with their crew members are on a seven day visit to the Buddhist sites in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. |
They visited Bodh Gaya, Nalanda and Rajgir. The team reached Bodh Gaya on Sunday and visited the sites of ancient Nalanda and different spots at Rajgir including Shanti Stupa, ropeway and the hot streams a day later.
According to Sanjay Shreevats, director India Toursim Patna, many of the Chinese journalists are making films on these sites and it is hoped that wide coverage will be given in their print and electronic media. This will encourage more Chinese tourists to India.
On Monday the guests shot various sites in Bodh Gaya, including Mahabodhi Temple, the only heritage site in Bihar and the Sujata Kutir across the Phalgu river.
The team will move to Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday enjoying Sarnath, the place where Buddha delivered his sermons for the first time and will enjoy the Ganga Aarti at the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat at Benaras during evening.
Shreevats said that the tourists would also be taken to Kuishinagar, the site of Mahaparinirvana of Buddha and from there it will move to Lumbini in Nepal, the place of his birth. The tour will conclude with the visit of Shravasti and Taj Mahal in Agra.
