Patna,(BiharTimes): While promoting four judges to the post of principal judge the Patna High Court Standing Committee on Monday ordered departmental proceedings against three of them.
The Committee, headed by the Acting Chief Justice Shiva Kirti Singh, held a former Additional District Judge of Patna Civil Court and Chapra Fast Track Court head Chandra Bhushan Kumar, guilty of manipulating legal procedures.

Kumar has been put under suspension, pending investigation. The Committee also effected a freeze on promotion for a year on the former Special Judge of the CBI in Patna and presently District Judge in Begusarai, S K Lal. He was the Judge during the earlier phase of the animal husbandry scam.
The Committee also directed to the Patna District Judge to complete investigations against Muni Lal Paswan, also a retired CBI Special Judge, who three years back absolved former chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi of all the charges in the disproporationate asset case.
The Committee directed that this investigation should be concluded within four months from the date of the current order. It also promoted four judges as principal judges. They are Ajit Sharan, Muzaffarpur ADJ, Dharmanath Prasad Verma, ADJ, Bhabua, Brajendra Kumar Srivastava, Patna ADJ and joint secretary in the law department, Dilip Kumar Sinha.
