Patna,(BiharTimes): About a dozen Lok Janshakti Party workers, including several leaders, were injured when the police lathicharged them while they were on the way to R-Block via Bailey Road. The Dalit Ekta March was taken out on the opening day of the winter session of the Bihar assembly.

Those who sustained injuries were party state chief Pashupati Kumar Paras, MLAs Maheshwar Prasad, Pappu Dev and Achyutanand, one of the spokesman, Ram Chandra Ram. The latter suffered bruises on his forehead when he fell down as police pushed him and other protestors back.
According to the party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Rajya Sabha MP, Shabbir Ali, also received injuries.
The Dalit Ekta March was taken out to protest chief minister Nitish Kumar’s attempt to divide the weaker section of the society in the name of Dalits and Mahadalits.
The lathicharge began near Planetarium as it falls in the prohibited area. The rallyists were asked by the district authorities to take the Station Road but they turned to the Bailey Road. At R-Block the rally was to be addressed by Ram Vilas Paswan.
Earlier, thousands of LJP workers from all over the state converged to Gandhi Maidan throwing the traffic system out of gear.
