LJP to move privilege motion against Bihar govt

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Lok Janshakti Legislature Party will move a privilege motion against the Bihar government on Monday for what it termed as brutal attack on its MLAs and party workers during a protest march here on Thursday.

Talking to reporters the LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan said the Patna district administration baton charged peaceful protesters at the behest of the chief minister Nitish Kumar in which, over 500 party leaders including LJP legislature party leader Maheswar Singh, state LJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras and others were injured.

Paswan said that the police also ill-treated women party workers. The march was called in protest against the alleged move by Nitish Kumar government to divide the weaker section of the society into Dalits and Mahadalits.

He said that his party would not take the police atrocities lying down and step up the agitation against the anti-Dalit and anti-poor policies of the NDA government in Bihar and would organise demonstration at district headquarters on December 21.
