Patna, Jan 4 : A medical team is investigating the death of five Dalit children in Bihar's Darbhanga district where media reports said several kids are suffering from measles and chicken-pox.

A health official said here the five children in Varahi village of Darbhanga district died of cold Dec 31-Jan 1.

District Civil Surgeon Lakhindra Prasad said a team of health officials would determine the cause of the five children's death.

However, the medical team that visited the village two days after five children's death, has now started treating the other children suffering from measles and chicken-pox.

In the last week of December, two children died in the Kamrauli village of the district after allegedly being administered BCG and DPT vaccination using a common syringe.
