The Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will run twice a day via Muzaffarpur railway
station. This was announced by the railway minister, Lalu Yadav, at a function
on Tuesday. At present the Rajdhani passes via Barauni-Bachwara-Hajipur route.Now
instead of Bachwara it will take a detour to Muzaffarpur to reach Hajipur. It
will take 65-odd kilometres more from Barauni to Hajipur. 
The
railway ministers announcement came following the demand made by the RJD
MP, Raghunath Jha, who was present in the function. Lalu then directed the senior
railway officials present there to ensure thatRajdhani run via Muzaffarpur at
least twice a week. He also said that Muzaffarpur railway station, built during
the time of British, would be pulled down and new model station would come up
instead. On Wednesday
the railway minister inaugurated a washing-pit at Saharsa railway station. He
assured that by 2008 all the tracks in the country would be converted. He also
announced two express trains from Saharsa. Comment |
