Purnea, Bihta to have engineering colleges soon

Patna, (BiharTimes): One engineering college will be opened each in Bihta (Patna) and Purnea while efforts are on to reopen the three private degree technical colleges lying closed for the last over one and a half decades.

Announcing this on Monday the science and technology minister, Anil Kumar, said that Sanghmitra Institute of Pharmacy would soon come up at Neora near Danapur.
Subhash Chandra Bose Engineering College at Bihta and Vidya Vihar Engineering College in Purnea will start functioning from the next academic session. It needs to be recalled that the Indian Institute of Technology is also coming up near Bihta.

The minister expressed concern over the fact that as high as 42,000 students leave Bihar every year to pursue technical education. He said that efforts are on to revive the three private engineering colleges at Gaya, Darbhanga and Motihari closed since late 1980s.
