Patna/Kanpur, May 30 : A Bihar boy, Shitikanth, has topped this year's Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) conducted for admissions to the country's premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Shitikanth, who hails from Patna, said: "I am really happy and celebrating my success as I never expected to top."

Surrounded by his family, relatives and friends, Shitikanth said he was expecting that his name may figure in the top ten. "It is all a result of hard work and positive surrounding, nothing else," Shitikanth told IANS.

He said his favourite subject is physics followed by mathematics. "I love to study physics all time. I have no problem in physics, more or less the same with maths," he said.

Shitikanth did his class 10 from St. Michael School in Patna. He joined Bansal Classes in Kota in Rajasthan to prepare for the IIT entrance exam.

Meanwhile, a statement released by IIT-Roorkee, which conducted this year's JEE exams, said N. Vasuki from Chennai zone, with an all-India rank of 14 topped the list of girl candidates. I can remember when BOKARO boys captured 4 positions out of 10 in IIT JEE years back , One of them Sri Chandam Mishra was quite famous in IIT Kanpur to raise his flags on every issue .

Now once again , PATNA / BIhar boys did thier best , It was not easy at all when Patna coaching Institutes were dry till years back but the roaring success of SUPER 30 make possible even other coaching institutes to work hard and forced meritorious students to stay back in PATNA rather than going to KOTA .

I congrats all stakeholders and certainly a saluate to ABHAYANAND Sir and ANAND Jee .

May God continue to bless you with further success and prosperity in your life. Please make sure that you should work in the best interest of you and our State Bihar, which has given a tag of "India's most backward and lawless state" worldwide.  A person like you and all other should try to remove this so-called tag which make Biharis ashamed. In your lifetime, always do good things and keep yourself away from all sorts of corruption, ghooskhori and try to develop yourself as honest Engineer who can, if do with full sincerity and honesty turn-around Bihar's image.
