New Delhi, Sep 4 :Rajya Sabha member and industrialist Rajeev Chandrasekhar Thursday donated Rs.10 million for relief and rehabilitation of Bihar flood victims.

Chandrashekhar, who is also the president of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce (FICCI), announced the personal contribution in a statement and also asked the members of the industry lobby to participate in the relief operation.

The FICCI Socio Economic Development Foundation will soon lead a major programme of immediate relief for the victims.

The industry group is sending a significant amount of tenting material for the construction of camps in Bihar under the aegis of the National Disaster Management Authority of the central government.

Chandrasekhar stressed the importance of developing forecasting of floods with better technologies and funds.

Flood in the Kosi river has ravaged several districts of Bihar with over two million still homeless.
