Patna, (Bihar Times): An under-trial prisoner, Munna
Singh, was killed in a bomb blast inside the Motihari
jail on Saturday.
Reports said that the rival criminals triggered blast
to settle the score with Munna Singh. The murder was
carried out to avenge the murder of another alleged
criminal, Chote Lal Sahni, while being produced before
the Motihari district court as an undertrial prisoner
last year.

The blast inside the jail exposed the security inside
the jail. Authorities are silent on the issue of how
the bomb was smuggled inside the prison. An enquiry
has been ordered in this regard.
Incidentally, the murder took place in the jail, only
500 metres away from the local Gandhi Maidan where the
state governor, R S Gavai, was inaugurating Motihari
Sanskritik Mahotsava.
