Tejashwi Yadav Says Bihar 'Failed on All Parameters' During 21 Years of NDA Rule

PATNA, Mar 12: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national working president Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Bihar government, alleging that the state has “failed on all parameters” during the 21 years of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule. His remarks came just days ahead of the 2026 Rajya Sabha Elections in Bihar, scheduled for March 16, where political tensions between the ruling coalition and the opposition have intensified.

In a post on X, Yadav claimed that despite years of what he described as a “double-engine government,” Bihar continues to rank among the lowest in the country on several development indicators. “The NDA government failed on all parameters despite years of a double-engine government. Bihar continues to remain at the bottom of most development indicators even after 21 years of NDA rule,” he wrote.

The Rajya Sabha contest in the state has drawn attention as six candidates are in the fray for five seats, with the ruling NDA fielding five candidates and the RJD putting up one nominee.

Yadav’s criticism adds to the escalating political rhetoric in the run-up to the polls, with opposition leaders questioning the NDA government’s record on development, employment, and infrastructure in the state.

The ruling coalition, however, has repeatedly defended its governance record, highlighting improvements in roads, law and order, education, and welfare schemes over the past two decades.

The Rajya Sabha election outcome is expected to reflect the current strength of parties in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, where the NDA enjoys a numerical advantage.
